Opening night of the 2011 Cambridge Film Festival
The 2011 Cambridge Film Festival opened in style last night with a special preview of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. In attendance were the director, Tomas Alfredson, screenwriter Peter Straughan, and two of the film's lead actors - the inimitable Gary Oldman and John Hurt.

Of course, the whole point of the Cambridge Film Festival is that it shows hundreds of brilliant films throughout the festival. French director Celine Sciamma came to Cambridge to present her new feature, Tomboy. I remember liking her first feature, the unsettling Water Lillies, so I look forward to seeing Tomboy when it's released:
