Kentwell Hall wedding photographs

Kentwell Hall is a magnificent Tudor mansion near the village of Long Melford in Suffolk. Although I've got faint memories of visiting Kentwell Hall on a fancy dress Elizabethan theme day when I was much, much younger, I don't have pictures of that so you'll have to make do with a great set of pictures from Natasha & Julian's wedding day instead!

Natasha & Julian got married in the small village of Helions Bumpstead before heading to Kentwell Hall for their wedding reception. To preempt the questions that I'm hoping you'll want to ask as you're looking through these pictures: yes, that suit of armour was scary in real life; yes, that final picture is lit only by fireworks.

Hindu wedding ceremonies - Pratheeban & Ruth

Pratheeban & Ruth are having two wedding ceremonies, one a Hindu ceremony in London and another taking place at Great Wilbraham Hall in Cambridgeshire. I'll be posting more pictures from their Hindu wedding ceremony in the near future (spoiler: there's quite a lot of colour) but here's one shot that caught my eye - here's Pratheeban arriving for the ceremony.

Bridal preparations photos - Nikki & Ed's wedding

Along with the ceremony and speeches, bridal preparations are one of my favourite parts of any wedding day. Photographing the bridal preparations is a great way of building up to the main event of the day, and adds a huge amount to the narrative of the final gallery of pictures that I present to my clients.

This shot was taken at Nikki & Ed's wedding at Kilworth House in Leicestershire. I'll post some more pictures from their wedding in the near future, but this one stood out as a great example of what I love about photographing bridal preparations on a wedding day - it's a simple, still moment taken in a situation where I've got the time and space to try a few different ideas.

Essex wedding photographer - Natasha & Julian's wedding

My job takes me all over the country to photograph weddings in a huge variety of venues, and I love the variety that it brings. However, I also love going back to familiar places and I can't think of anywhere more familiar then the village in Essex that I grew up in!

I've known Natasha since her family moved to Helions Bumpstead, so photographing her wedding there was a real pleasure. Helions Bumpstead is right on the border between Essex, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, so after the wedding ceremony in Essex we all headed over the border into Suffolk for the reception at Kentwell Hall.

I'll post some more pictures from Natasha & Julian's wedding in Essex soon, but in the meantime here's one of my favourite pictures from the day - the bride and her family walking to the church.

Cambridge engagement photos

It's been a busy time here in the run-up to the wedding season, with lots of photography projects on the go including a whole load of engagement portrait sessions here in Cambridge. Here are few of my favourite pictures from some recent sessions.
