December 2013 update: I'm no longer working as a photographer

In 2009, I launched a company that makes business software for photographers, and now that company is so successful that I've regretfully had to put my photography business on hold indefinitely. You can find out more about this change on my blog.

If you're looking for a photographer, I'm still in touch with many amazing photographers and would be delighted to recommend them to you if you contact me.

Katherine & Adrian's engagement portrait

Posted in Portrait Photography at 18:59 on 30/04/2007

Katherine & Adrian are getting married in Trinity College, so we took advantage of the opportunity to use the college's wonderful architecture for their engagement portrait. Trinity owns some of my favourite buildings in Cambridge, so much fun was had by all.

Live Music Photography (aka How I Become A Pro, Part 1)

Posted in Miscellaneous at 08:23 on 30/04/2007

I'm often asked by my clients how I became a professional photographer. It was actually a drawn out process - I didn't wake up one day and know that I was destined to be a wedding and portrait photographer!

When I went to university, I wanted to write for the music section of the student paper, Varsity. There was a lot of competition for writing jobs but I could take pictures so I ended up photographing the gigs that we featured in our live reviews. One thing lead to another and I ended up working for a picture agency while I was still at university before starting to accept commissioned jobs once I'd graduated.

I don't do much live music photography these days unless I'm commissioned by a band or publication, but here are a few of my favourite images from the last few years.

Sharon & Chris's engagement portrait

Posted in Portrait Photography at 12:52 on 09/04/2007

Sharon & Chris are getting married near Cambridge, so we decided to do their pre-wedding shoot here over the bank holiday weekend. The bright weather brought out the crowds, which formed a great backdrop for intimate portraits.
