December 2013 update: I'm no longer working as a photographer

In 2009, I launched a company that makes business software for photographers, and now that company is so successful that I've regretfully had to put my photography business on hold indefinitely. You can find out more about this change on my blog.

If you're looking for a photographer, I'm still in touch with many amazing photographers and would be delighted to recommend them to you if you contact me.

Selwyn College photos - Tara & Chris' engagement portrait

Posted in Portrait Photography at 16:25 on 18/04/2011

I've known Chris since we studied Economics together at Selwyn College, so I was delighted to be asked to photograph his wedding. When Chris & Tara asked me to shoot an engagement portrait session for them, I immediately suggested that we asked Selwyn College whether we could do it in the college grounds.

Here are a few of my favourite pictures from Tara & Chris' engagement portrait session at Selwyn College.

Graham Seed / Nigel Pargetter event for Winter Comfort

Posted in Commercial and PR at 11:30 on 14/04/2011

Winter Comfort has been doing amazing work with homeless people in Cambridge for a long time, so I was delighted to be asked to help out by photographing one of their fundraising events.

Graham Seed, the actor who played Nigel Pargetter in The Archers, had been invited by Winter Comfort to host an event at the law faculty here in Cambridge. Although I'm a big fan of Radio 4, I'm not a fan of radio drama and The Archers theme tune drives me crazy. However, even I've heard of Nigel Pargetter's untimely demise (and improbably long scream as he plunged from a roof) and my mum's a long-time fan of The Archers, so I decided that I could put up with the risk of having The Archers theme tune stuck in my head for a week for a good cause.

Graham Seed's connection to Winter Comfort is very much through Nigel Pargetter, and in particular the wicker coffin he was buried in. One of Winter Comfort's social enterprise schemes produces wicker products, which seems like a good excuse to get Graham Seed involved in a fundraising event.

Rhian & Mike's wedding in Cambridge

Posted in Wedding Photography at 14:22 on 13/04/2011

This year's wedding season has well and truly started for me, and Rhian & Mike's wedding in Cambridge was a great example of why I love photographing weddings at Cambridge colleges. They chose to get married at Christ's College, which features lots of the beautiful sandstone architecture that makes Cambridge colleges such a delight to photograph in sunny weather.

I'll post more photographs from Rhian & Mike's wedding next week, but in the meantime here's an image from the bridal preparations that caught my eye.

South Farm wedding photographs - Maureen & Nick

Posted in Wedding Photography at 12:00 on 11/04/2011

Maureen & Nick got married at South Farm in Cambridgeshire. I've photographed lots of weddings there, but working in the same venue a lot always proves to me that the people are far more important to me as a photographer at weddings than the venue. In Maureen & Nick's case, their wedding at South Farm was very kiddie-friendly, both in terms of the number of kids there and all of the entertainment that they laid on for them.

Here are some of my favourite pictures from Maureen & Nick's wedding at South Farm in Cambridgeshire.

Cambridge portrait photographs - Rhian & Mike

Posted in Portrait Photography at 08:00 on 08/04/2011

There's nothing like a last-minute engagement portrait session - Rhian & Mike are getting married here in Cambridge on Saturday, but we found time to squeeze in a pre-wedding portrait session just two days before their wedding.

The weather for Rhian & Mike's portrait photography session was great, so we were able to use some of the greener parts of Cambridge as well as some of my favourite architecture. Here's a few of my favourite photographs from their portrait session - wedding pictures will of course follow next week!
