December 2013 update: I'm no longer working as a photographer

In 2009, I launched a company that makes business software for photographers, and now that company is so successful that I've regretfully had to put my photography business on hold indefinitely. You can find out more about this change on my blog.

If you're looking for a photographer, I'm still in touch with many amazing photographers and would be delighted to recommend them to you if you contact me.

Mandarin Oriental London wedding photographs: Julie & Gavin's wedding

Posted in Wedding Photography at 13:48 on 24/11/2009

The Mandarin Oriental is one of my favourite central London wedding venues, so it was a pleasure to be invited to photograph Julie & Gavin's wedding there. The autumnal weather provided an authentic taste of English weather for Julie's American family & friends!

Julie & Gavin laid on an old Routemaster bus to get everyone back to the Mandarin Oriental for the wedding reception:

I love photographing the wedding speeches, so the American tradition of providing an open microphone for toasts is right up my street:

Gloucestershire wedding photography at Berkeley Caslte

Posted in Wedding Photography at 17:29 on 16/11/2009

Sally & Seán took me all the way over to Gloucestershire to photograph their wedding at Berkeley Castle. While the weather was against us, a 12th century fortification is more than capable of sheltering a wedding party from the wind and the rain! Here's a selection of my favourite pictures from Sally & Seán's wedding in Gloucestershire.

Seán, his ushers and his family started their day at the Berkeley Arms hotel:

Meanwhile, Sally's preparations were taking place in the nearby Gloucestershire village of Dursley:

It would be fair to say that Sally & Seán pulled off one of the most impressive first dances I've ever seen at a wedding:

Post-production seminar disc available

Posted in Seminars at 08:10 on 10/11/2009

Earlier this year, I presented a series of post-production seminars for Calumet. The seminar taught the post-production skills you need to finish your portrait & wedding photographs to a professional standard and was accompanied by a disc containing:

A detailed guide covering black & white conversions, practical portrait retouching and creating special effects.

A set of Photoshop actions that automate the techniques described in the handout.

I'm not planning to repeat the post-production course, but I've had a lot of interest from photographers who missed it so I'm making the disc available separately. It's available for a limited period for £35 and you can order your copy from this page.

Cambridge wedding photographer: Philippa & Simon's wedding at Girton College

Posted in Wedding Photography at 12:36 on 09/11/2009

The beautiful Girton College in Cambridge provided the setting for Philippa & Simon's wedding on Halloween. The Halloween theme only extended as far as the decorations, so there weren't any zombie guests to contend with, but the pumpkins added to the autumnal atmosphere of the wedding day.

I love photographing Autumn and Winter weddings - the weather and the light brings a completely different set of challenges to Spring and Summer weddings, producing a very different feel in my pictures.

Jessica & Simon's pre-wedding portrait session in Cambridge

Posted in Portrait Photography at 09:11 on 09/11/2009

Jessica and Simon are getting married at the wonderful Longstowe Hall in Cambridgeshire next year, but we took advantage of the wonderful Autumn colours in Cambridge for their pre-wedding shoot.

Here are a few of my favourite images from Jessica and Simon's engagement portrait session.
