December 2013 update: I'm no longer working as a photographer

In 2009, I launched a company that makes business software for photographers, and now that company is so successful that I've regretfully had to put my photography business on hold indefinitely. You can find out more about this change on my blog.

If you're looking for a photographer, I'm still in touch with many amazing photographers and would be delighted to recommend them to you if you contact me.

Wedding photography seminars review

Posted in Seminars at 10:38 on 18/11/2008

Last week saw the end of my first series of wedding photography seminars. Presented in association with Calumet, a chain of professional photographic equipment shops, the course was designed to help newcomers to the wedding photography industry to build up their businesses while avoiding some of the pitfalls they are likely to come across. In the end, I actually ended up presenting my seminar to a wide range of photographers. While roughly half of the attendees either hadn't photographed a wedding before or were running a part-time business, the remainder were either full-time wedding photographers or had other types of photography business but were looking to add wedding photography to their portfolio.

It's been really interesting reading through the feedback forms and emails that I've received. The response has been overwhelmingly positive and I'm still bowled over by how well this first series of talks has gone. I've found it fascinating to find out which parts of the seminar everyone found most useful and I'm already starting to plan another seminar…

Which is just as well, because Calumet have asked me to do another series of seminars next year. I'll post more information about it on here as soon as the content and dates are confirmed, but I can already tell you that it's going to be covering a very different set of topics to my recent talks. Those of you who came along to the Bristol and Birmingham seminars will have some idea as to what I'll be doing, but watch this space.

If you'd like me to let you know as soon as the next set of seminars is announced, use my contact form to get in touch with me and I'll add you to the list.
