Winter Comfort has been doing amazing work with homeless people in Cambridge for a long time, so I was delighted to be asked to help out by photographing one of their fundraising events.
Graham Seed, the actor who played Nigel Pargetter in The Archers, had been invited by Winter Comfort to host an event at the law faculty here in Cambridge. Although I'm a big fan of Radio 4, I'm not a fan of radio drama and The Archers theme tune drives me crazy. However, even I've heard of Nigel Pargetter's untimely demise (and improbably long scream as he plunged from a roof) and my mum's a long-time fan of The Archers, so I decided that I could put up with the risk of having The Archers theme tune stuck in my head for a week for a good cause.
Graham Seed's connection to Winter Comfort is very much through Nigel Pargetter, and in particular the wicker coffin he was buried in. One of Winter Comfort's social enterprise schemes produces wicker products, which seems like a good excuse to get Graham Seed involved in a fundraising event.
