It's been a while since I last photographed a wedding in Salisbury, so Caren & Mike's wedding was even more exciting for me than it would have been otherwise. It's always a pleasure to photograph friends' weddings and I've known Mike since our time together at Selwyn College at the University of Cambridge. Of course, the setting of the Medieval Hall in Salisbury, followed by a walk through the grounds and cloisters of Salisbury Cathedral to the Salisbury Cathedral School, provided a great backdrop to their wedding. And then there was the music…
I've always known that Mike has great taste in music and I try to follow up his recommendations whenever I can, but my choices for wedding music wouldn't be half as cool as Mike & Caren's. Walking down the aisle to Nick Cave? Signing the register to Barry Louis Polisar's 'All I Want Is You' (aka "the music from Juno" to dilettantes like me)? And recessing to Marvin Gaye's 'Let's Get It On'? Mike & Caren, I salute you.
Enough rambling from me and onto the pictures…
I've never seen hair spray being used on the veil before - and there was me thinking that I knew it all when it came to bridal preparations.

Fran & Gareth's wedding pre-dates my blog so I can't link to it here, but Mike was Gareth's best man. Here's Gareth returning the favour:
