Not only a talented photographer, Tom is a pleasure to be around. Booking him was very simple and throughout the lead-up to our wedding he was clear and efficient, asking what we wanted and guiding us through what was needed to get it.
On the day, he was unfailingly polite and friendly to everyone he came across, and yet invisible most of the time. He really just let us, and all our guests, get on with enjoying the day - it was crucial to us that we could actually enjoy the results of all the effort we'd put into planning it, and although Tom was always at our disposal, it was so nice to just let him get on with it!
Tom has an incredible talent for capturing a feeling in an image. Going through one of his albums, you never fail to get a sense of the atmosphere at each and every event. And that's exactly what we wanted - not a collection of snapshots of our nearest and dearest, but a record of the day as a whole, something we could look back on and remember how every step of the way felt.
Tom delivered a beautiful set of images that capture many very happy memories - I'm sure we will continue to enjoy looking through them for years to come.

We could not recommend Tom highly enough! He produced the most beautiful pictures and managed to capture the essence of the day in a way we could not have imagined. We found no need for a videographer as Tom's photos told the story of the day just perfectly and - each time we look at our photos - we spot somebody's expression or a clever detail that we missed the first time around.
When choosing a photographer, you spend a lot of time looking at other people's wedding photos and hope that yours will turn out just as well. Nothing compares to looking at your own and, with Tom, they will turn out even better!

If you're reading this review then you've already discovered Tom's website and will know that his style of wedding photography and the quality of his work is second to none. We adore looking at our album and seeing a record of how the day progressed. Tom's photographs tell a story and capture the most natural shots possible. For us, this is so much more important than the traditional style of wedding photography where family groups are corralled together, one after another, for unimaginative group shots. Tom is very courteous and is able to cover the day without being obtrusive while at the same time being in the right place at the right time. We had many compliments about Tom from our guests.
Every wedding day is unique and ours spanned multiple venues, not least being a punting trip on the River Cam! Tom was able to cover all this as well as the bride's preparations across town as the day began.
Following the wedding, Tom designed a beautiful wedding album and we were delighted to receive a link to our draft album on-line while we were still on honeymoon. The album design was so perfect we made no changes at all! The final album arrived promptly and is a beautiful record of our day.
If you're wondering if it is worth spending the money then we say “do it!” You won't find a better wedding photographer than Tom Catchesides.

After attending a friend's wedding in 2005 we were given the link to view the professional wedding photos. We were awestruck. Each photo was mesmerising, capturing intimate moments in beautiful style. This is how we discovered the fantastic talents of Tom Catchesides.
Five years later and we were engaged to be married. There was no discussion, Tom was the photographer we wanted. We were not disappointed. Tom's style and character fitted exactly with what we wanted; no deliberate posing, no ordering about and no lengthy photo shoots away from our guests, just great moments to savour forever. Picture perfect!

Our wedding was never going to be a 'wedding in a box', like you get from many places which organise the whole thing for you. No white dress or morning suits, a big chocolate cake covered Smarties, a hog roast, sloe gin and tonic instead of champagne, and home-grown flowers - and definitely no little pillow to put the rings on. Given all this, we wanted a photographer who'd capture the mood of the day, with all its emotions, and who would take interesting, dynamic pictures that we'd want to have around the house, rather than stiff, formal shots that would gather dust in an album in an attic somewhere.
We were thrilled with the pictures that Tom took - just looking back at them reminds us of a brilliant day. He captured people's expressions perfectly, and when we first looked through the pictures we found that there were so many which we had no idea that he'd taken, with all the little details that made the day special.
We couldn't recommend him highly enough.

A perfect wedding photographer. We got married at Sheene Mill in Melbourn and were so pleased we chose Tom to be our photographer. We were really impressed with the initial contact and how clearly Tom explained his approach to our big day, and found the engagement portrait session really helpful in making us more at ease. For two people who are not keen on having their photo taken, this was remarkable!
On the day, Tom was wonderful, polite and we had many comments from guests about how well he merged into the background - looking at our album it was amazing how he managed to capture every moment. We were thrilled with the photos and the quality of the album, and would recommend Tom in an instant.
